Detailed UK Wii review

As in other reviews that have been emerging since the release of the Wii, the experience of these UK testers is very positive.

Among a plethora of details, they write: “Wii introduces an amazing new control system that not only provides players with a fresh take on traditional videogames but creates a platform for a diverse array of new, more physical computer entertainment. Maybe it won’t win over folk who dislike console gaming, at least not straight away, but it does present an opportunity to offer something for everyone.” Be sure to browse the entire review, you’re bound to learn something you didn’t know about the console.

Review: Super Swing Golf

The guys and gals over at GameSpot took a long and hard look at Super Swing Golf and they are not completely happy with the experience: “The golfing game that is part of the Wii Sports disc that comes with every new Wii (at least in North America) isn’t a particularly good representation of the sport, and it only has nine holes. But it is kind of fun in a “tech-demo” sort of way, and if nothing else, it leaves you craving a more fleshed-out golf game.”

Do read on for the entire review, there are some good points to be found. After all, the majority of the people that would consider playing golf like this are bound not to be real-life golfers anyway and are just looking for some fun.

Two weeks with the Wii

Slashdot posted an in-depth article in which the author discusses his experiences after playing the Wii for two weeks.

His experience is very positive as he writes: “The system delivers exactly what the company promised when the ‘Revolution’ was announced in 2004. It’s a system that offers the best of both worlds. Non-gamers have a completely intuitive control scheme that will now allow them to play with their game-loving friends. Hardcore gamers already have more innovative titles to play than they know what to do with.”
